DSEK Announces Revised School Timings for Kashmir Division | Check Now


Srinagar, August 10 (KNO): In a significant development aimed at providing relief to students and staff during the prevailing weather conditions, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced a change in school timings for the entire Kashmir division. The new timings will come into effect from August 12, 2024.
To accommodate the needs of students and staff in different regions, the DSEK has divided the Kashmir division into two zones:


Srinagar Municipal Limits

Schools located within the Srinagar Municipal limits will operate from 9 AM to 3 PM. This revised timing is expected to provide respite from the increasing temperatures in the urban areas.


Outside Srinagar Municipal Limits


For educational institutions situated outside the Srinagar Municipal limits, including those in other districts of Kashmir, the new school hours will be from 10 AM to 4 PM. This adjustment is likely to be beneficial for students and staff in areas with relatively cooler climates.


The decision to modify school timings has been taken after careful consideration of various factors, including weather conditions, student welfare, and operational efficiency.
