Big Boost for Solar Adoption in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, In a significant move to promote renewable energy and reduce electricity bills for residents, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced an additional subsidy for beneficiaries of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Scheme. This extra financial support will be provided on top of the maximum subsidy offered by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for solar installations up to 3 KW.

The decision is aimed at accelerating the adoption of solar power in the region and making clean energy more accessible to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. By providing increased incentives, the government hopes to encourage more households to embrace solar energy and reduce their dependence on traditional power sources.
